Waterproofing, by Miss Campbell
Date: 30th Nov 2016 @ 2:58pm
This afternoon Year 2 were trying to find out how they can make a piece of paper waterproof.
They took a piece of regular paper and looked at what happened when water was dropped on it. They used the same amount of drops each time to make it a fair test.
They then experimented with different techniques trying to make their paper waterproof.
- plain paper
- wax crayon
- pencil crayon
- oil pastel
- felt tip
Which technique do you think worked best? Why?
Which was the worst technique?

Date: 6th Jun 2016 @ 8:36pm
Year 5 Ancient Greek Day
On the last day of our topic on Ancient Greece, we celebrated with a day where we all dressed up as an Ancient Greek.
Throughout the day we took part in many related activities:
- We tasted Greek food
We tasted houmous, taramasalata, tzatziki, feta, olives, pitta bread and baklava. Amazingly, the olives were the first food to be devoured!
Well done to everyone who tried something new.
- We made fantastic Greek masks. (See the pictures below.)
- We learnt to dance (brilliantly) a simple Greek dance.
Zorba the Greek is our new favourite tune!
Thanks must go to all of the parents who supported their children by helping with the wonderful costumes. A great fun and educational day was had by all!
