Welcome to Belgrave Primary School
Dear Parents, Carers and Visitors,
A very warm welcome to our learning community! Thank you for visiting our website.
I feel privileged to be the Headteacher here at Belgrave Primary and excited about leading our school forward on its journey as an outstanding learning community. Our children, families and dedicated staff are truly wonderful. I am extremely ambitious for all of our learners and look forward to working together to promote success and embrace change at the forefront of education. Developing life-long learners, nurturing well-being and celebrating achievement whilst raising standards is our core aim. We strive for everyone involved in our community to be thrilled by the potential of each school day.
We firmly believe in establishing effective home school partnerships from Foundation to Year 6. This is fostered through the year group meetings at the beginning of the school year, curriculum workshops, class newsletters, Home School Books and Planners and a wide range of social events organised by the PTA. You will be able to read our monthly newsletter on the website which will give you an insight to life at the school; as will the photographs of learning inside and outside of the classroom. The Class Pages will also show you what is happening in the classrooms.
In January this year we received a congratulatory letter from Rt Hon Nick Gibb MP for the schools high achievement in reading. 100% of our Key Stage Two pupils reached or exceeded the expected standard in reading in 2017 and we are in the top 1% of schools in England. We have included a link under the Results 2017 to the GOV.UK site to enable you to see how our Key Stage 2 results compare with other schools in West Cheshire and Chester. The school's position out of 150 schools is 4th with 90% of the pupils having achieved the expected standard; 21% of the pupils reached the higher standard. You can read information about all our results on the website under the tab "Curriculum".
Prospective parents are encouraged to contact the school office to arrange to attend a "walk around" in the school day to see the school in action.
