I have a range of responsibilities including maths coordinator, curriculum lead and pupil premium coordinator. I was appointed as a governor in November 2022.
As a governor, I am keen to support Belgrave to achieve the Belong, Enjoy, Enthuse, Succeed motto. As a dedicated educator for over two decades, now working in higher education, I have a strong passion for learning. I believe high quality teaching at primary level is vital for strong foundations of learning for every child.
Josiah Mainwaring
Parent governor - elected by parents| maths
First appointed 28 Sep 2023 - Term of office ends 27 Sep 2027
My name is Josiah Mainwaring and I will have both of my children attending Belgrave. Prior to my current job I trained as a teacher achieving a PGCE in for secondary mathematics. Whilst I did not enter the teaching profession ultimately, I still enjoy coaching and teaching as part of my day to day. I regularly help out a local youth club and have enjoyed helping my kids in their first steps in education.
I now work as a civil engineer and where I am responsible for the maintenance of industrial building and the design and safe construction of new structures. I still utilise the teacher’s skill set daily as I develop and mentor junior colleagues.
I love sport, my current favourites being cycling, running, the gym and squash. I cycle to work most days and got to the gym 3 times a week.
I've put myself forward for the position of parent governor at Belgrave as I believe this is the best way I can serve the school whilst my children are there. I believe that my skills, background and enthusiasm will complement that of the current board.

My 2 daughters have studied at Belgrave, and are now striving in high school. My role as governor is to be a critical friend to the wonderful staff of Belgrave, supportive of their efforts, but never afraid to question and challenge them when necessary.

Co-opted governor - Appointed by governing board | looked after children | send
First appointed 22 Nov 2016 - Term of office ends 21 Nov 2028
Our son, Ben, has been happy all the way through his time at Belgrave, so I am keen to help the school to continue to provide an excellent, broad education for children. I have 3 older children, who each went to university; one of them is now a secondary school teacher. Previously I have had experience of being a school governor in two primary schools in East Middlesbrough. As a new governor again, I am looking forward to learning again how best to support the school!
Lynne Taylor
Staff governor - Elected by staff | e-safety
First appointed 20 Oct 2015 - Term of office ends 20 July 2027
I am a staff governor, my school role is Deputy Head and SENDCo.
I have been a governor for 17 years. I have also been a governor in my previous role so have worked alongside many people in different committees, I am always very impressed with the amount of time, energy, expertise and commitment that governors give to school on a voluntary basis and would like to thank my fellow governors for their time, challenge and support.
I particularly enjoy being able to advocate for children with different needs and ensure that all decision making reflects our ethos of inclusivity and diversity.
