International Fortnight
We have enjoyed a fun-packed international fortnight in Reception. A huge thank you to all parents and children who helped us by sharing information about their countries, cultures and languages.
Iraq
We enjoyed delicious 'Koba', a traditional Iraqi dish made by one of our pupil's.
Switzerland
Mrs Hancock showed us interesting historic photos of her Swiss family. We got to eat yummy swiss apple tart and toblerone.
Japan
Mr Clifton and two year 6 pupils prepared an informative presentation about Japan. Mr Clifton dressed in a yukata.
Poland
One Mummy told us all about Poland and we learnt how their alphabet is different to ours. We heard an amazing, fast-paced Polish poem on a train.
Hungary
Julia's Daddy taught us about Attila the ferocious Hungarian leader and we practised some Hungarian.
Brazil
one pupil and her Mummy taught us about Brazil and Portugese through an action packed show and presentation. We enjoyed sweet Brazilian treats.
Wales
We enjoyed trying to say the longest welsh town dance.

What a tongue - twister!
We also enjoyed some homemade Welsh cakes.
Iran
One pupil and her parents showed us how Farsi writing goes from right to left.... apart from maths which goes from left to right. We also had a selection of Iranian sweet treats to picnic on.
Kuwait
These parents told us all about their time living in Kuwait and we learnt some Arabic. We enjoyed seeing some traditional Arabic dress. The baklava was delightful!
France
This Papa showed us his home town on Google Earth. We practised our French and ate some tasty Madeleine cakes.
Germany
Mrs Woodman, who usually teaches French, taught us some German words linked to a topic that the children are hugely interested in - The World Cup!
Mexico
Look at our super pinatas! One Mummy taught us about the Mexican tradition and showed us how to make some pinatas of our own. We are looking forward to finding the surprise inside!
